Bryan Burt always knew he was going to be a surgeon. “I feel that I can make the biggest impact through surgery,” said Burt, whose father was also a surgeon.
Burt, who hails from New Jersey, attended Cornell University's Medical School before heading up to Boston to begin his residency. Drawn by the strong departments and academic approach to learning at BWH, Burt describes his first six weeks as “challenging but fun.”
“It’s been really great taking care of patients,” said Burt, who has been training in the Cushing Service in the Department of General Surgery. “It’s a lot of responsibility, and it’s not always easy, but given the choice, there is nothing else I’d rather do. Being a surgeon is the best job in the world.”
